Airloom

Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

Airloom is a personal legacy journaling app that lets parents capture memories, stories, and messages to be delivered to their child over time โ€” including at future milestones, or posthumously. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated as you use the app.

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name. If you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from those providers.

Journal content: We store the journal entries, sections, titles, and unlock conditions you create, including text, photos, audio recordings, and video. This content is stored securely in our database and is only accessible to you and recipients you explicitly invite.

Usage data: We collect basic information about how you interact with the app to help us improve it, such as app crashes and feature usage patterns. We do not sell this data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your journal content to train AI models or for any advertising purpose.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted in the United States. Media files (photos, audio) are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level security policies to ensure only authorized users can access your data.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and journal content within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Posthumous access features allow your designated trusted contacts to maintain access to your journal after your passing, in accordance with the settings you configure. This is a core feature of the product and data is retained accordingly.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@airloomit.com.

You can delete your account and associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Airloom is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The recipient experience (for children of journal keepers) does not require a child to create an account โ€” access is managed by the keeper until the child is of appropriate age.

8. Push Notifications

We may send push notifications to inform recipients when new journal entries have been unlocked for them. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
